Writing about
Health
Medicine
Mental Health
Wellness
Doctors mend the body, therapists tend the mind, and researchers mind the scientific evidence. But who gathers information from all these sources, brings it together, and distills it into engaging, actionable content? That's where I come in.
Health Writer
I'm a freelance writer with a master's degree in health psychology. For nearly 40 years, I have specialized in reliable, relatable writing about health, medicine, mental health, and wellness. And for the last couple of years, I have spent part of my time creating science-based Covid-19 content for health systems, health insurance plans, and patient advocacy organizations. I'm based in the Milwaukee area, but I write for clients across the country and around the globe.
You'll often find me working with custom content providers (such as Krames) and health care companies (such as Philips Sleep and Respiratory Care). I have also written scores of articles for high-traffic websites (such as Psychology Today).
In addition, I am author or coauthor of 15 books for readers of all ages. The most recent is If Your Adolescent Has ADHD: An Essential Resource for Parents. This book, cowritten with Dr. Thomas J. Power, was published by Oxford University Press in collaboration with The Annenberg Public Policy Center.

My books range from a children's biography of Louis Pasteur to a two-volume Encyclopedia of Depression. Along the way, I also coauthored seven books for the Annenberg Public Policy Center's Adolescent Mental Health Initiative.

Other Writing
I am a writer who thinks visually as well as verbally, so I love creating infographic text. I also enjoy writing slide decks, whiteboard animation scripts, white papers, and Q&As
